Starfield Hanam, A New Playground in Town

Starfield Hanam is a new shopping complex in Hanam, Gyeonggi-do. It is South Korea’s first ‘shopping theme park’ and the second largest shopping mall with nearly 300 stores. Its design followed Western style schematics and opened on September 9, 2016. Shinsegae Group, headed by group vice chairman, Yong-Jin Chung, Korea’s retail business tycoon, invested 1 trillion KRW (approx. 880 billion US Dollars) in the development of this new landmark in Hanam City.

The building spans gross area of 460,000 sq. metres (with 152,000 sq metre leasable spaces) offering everything from fast fashion to luxury items through a unique collection of domestic and international retailers as well as incredible variety of dining and entertainment.

Immediately notable is the selection of stores and services carefully curated to benefit visitors and accommodate their diverse needs. The mall is designed consciously to facilitate convenience for mothers who shop for their children by locating Kids Zone and Women’s Zone in the same segment of the venue.

Retail spaces in the luxury collection are occupied with leading brands such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Tiffany, Balenciaga, Bvlgari, Fendi, Ferragamo, Saint Laurent etc.

In the food court, situated in the underground floor, is a series of unique displays of stylish food trucks. The PK Market boasting benefits from department store and discount mart offers state-of-art food shelf displays and groceries at an affordable price range.

Another key component of the overall Starfield experience is entertainment. The eleven-screen Megabox cinema, a Sports Monster Sportsplex offering everything from rock climbing to basketball and a 10,405 sq. metre Aquafield indoor/outdoor water park as a whole provide year-round fun filled experiences for the family.

Visitors will find plenty food choices in Strarfield including the famous heritage Korean eateries like Ueijongbu Pyeongyang Cold Noodle and Hanilgwan, a Cantonese style dim sum restaurant, Yumcha where carts with dim sum are served around the restaurant, a popular beer brewery pub, Devil’s Door and several star chef restaurants.
